Soaring Eagle Gaming, the Saginaw Chippewa tribe’s gaming arm, launched its internet gaming and sports betting site, Eagle Casino & Sports, on April 14, 2022.

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort partnered with platform provider GAN to launch its online product.

Eagle Casino & Sports became Michigan’s 15th online gaming platform and offers more than 100 slot options and over a dozen table games. That includes live-betting roulette, blackjack and baccarat through a partnership with Evolution.

Soaring Eagle Sportsbook

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort opened the Ascend sports bar and nightclub in 2018 knowing that legal sports betting in Michigan was a distinct possibility in the not-so-distant future.

In January 2020, with Michigan sports betting laws finally ed, Soaring Eagle Casino officials said Ascend would be the property’s new sportsbook location when it opened. That happened on April 4, 2022 with the opening of Ascend Sportsbook.

Ascend s itself as the place to be for televised sporting events and live entertainment. There are several large-screen TVs and plenty of seating, in addition to food and drinks.

The venue has the ability to show sports and is a comfortable spot to watch a game. Inside the sportsbook and restaurant you can find 25 televisions, 14 self-betting kiosks and two in-person betting windows.

Partnered with platform provider GAN, it has met Michigan’s regulatory requirements for licensing and is live now. It’s phone application launched in late May of 2022.

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort is home to a newly renovated smoke-free 18-table poker room.

The room offers Texas Hold ’em, Pineapple, Crazy Pineapple, Omaha, Seven Card Stud, Razz and multi-game cash play and tournaments.

The poker room is open Sunday -Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 1:45 a.m. and Friday – Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 3:45 a.m. with promotions (Royal Flush Steel Wheel Bonus, High Hands) and some regular tournaments (Deep Stack, Bounty, Dead Hand Walking).

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort has gone through two major renovations. In 2011, the buffet was re-branded and a 24-hour diner launched. The Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort is serious about dining and entertainment, with nine restaurants, bars and eateries, two massive concert venues, and a sports bar and nightclub:

• Ascend Sports Bar & Nightclub: The place to be for select televised sporting events and live entertainment. Plus, the property’s sportsbook.
• Siniikaung Bistro: A upscale restaurant which “combines the American Bistro experience with an innovative cocktail menu and modern interpretations on classic dishes made from scratch using only the most fresh international ingredients.”
• Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse: Famed steakhouse chain.

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort history

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort opened as a casino in 1996. The resort part came in the form of a 500-plus-room hotel added in 1998.

Already owners of one of the largest casinos in the state, of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Nation proved they were serious about entertainment options at the property when they converted a former bingo hall into The Entertainment Hall concert venue in 2000.

Five years later the commitment continued with the launch of the Soaring Eagle Outdoor Arena amphitheater in 2005 and the launch of the summer A-list Outdoor Concert Series.

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort underwent a renovation in 2011 with the Firefly Buffet re-branded as Aurora Buffet and remodeled, providing space for the launch of the 24-hour Legends Diner.

In 2017, the tribe announced plans for a massive $26.5 million renovation.

A new sports bar and nightclub and a new high-limit and VIP lounge area came alongside Entertainment Hall renovations, the enclosing of the casino’s non-smoking area, and a re-deg of the Kid’s Quest and Cyber Quest areas. The poker room was also relocated and the sub shop re-branded. It all opened in 2018.

Plus, the tribe began a hotel remodeling project expected to take until 2022 to complete. The renovation will include new hotel rooms and infrastructure. Construction will be done in phases.
