Three takeaways from Michigan’s October slot count

DraftKings makes big increase

The most noticeable difference for Michigan’s slot count in October is the addition of DraftKings Casino Michigan.

At the start of September, DraftKings logged just 720 games. Now, it has 1,168. That is a 62.2% increase in its gaming library over the month.

It’s the biggest increase for any of Michigan’s online casino operators. It also pushes DraftKings to second in the total slot count, just behind BetMGM Michigan (1,239). It already holds the jackpot slot lead with 286 available right now.

DraftKings is already having a great 2023, up 44.9% in revenue through the first eight months of the year. DraftKings has $223.8 million at this point compared to $154.4 million in 2022.

While the impact of this recent gaming boost won’t be known for a few months, it shows DraftKings is continuing to invest in its online casino product.

Four operators over 1,100 games

Last month, BetMGM was the only online casino in Michigan with over 1,100 slot offerings. At the time it sat at 1,205.

Now, four different operators have over 1,100 games coming into October.

BetMGM Michigan leads the way with 1,239, while DraftKings (1,168), BetRivers Casino Michigan (1,150) and WynnBet Casino MI (1,117) are all past that mark.

Collectively, the state is up to 9,664 total games between the operators. That is up nearly 8% from September’s 8,958 total.

Eagle Casino & Sports leads name-brand operators

Of Michigan’s four name-brand operators that run online casinos, it is Soaring Eagle’s online casino that has the most robust game library.

Eagle Casino & Sports is at 780 games to start October, well ahead of its nearest competitor of Four Winds online casino, which is at 444.

FireKeepers iCasino (246) and Play Gun Lake (178) sit even further back.

Eagle Casino & Sports also leads the way in jackpot offerings of the name-brand casinos with 36.
